BC Place Democross Rules - 2012

 



Hello and thank you for requesting rules for the 2012 BC Place event. The date for this show is February 4, 2012. This year you will receive two wristbands and two grand stand passes along with a T-Shirt. Entry fee for this event is $70 USD or $77 CDN . We do apologize for the long wait on these shows but had a few things to iron out first!

Here is the purse breakdown for 2012 in CDN:

 

BC Place Democross (Small Cars, no trucks)

2nd place $400

3rd place $250

4th place $100

5th place $75

 

 Would you like to add to your winning purse?    If you place the following sponsors on your car you will receive an extra $25 CDN for each one that is displayed with at least 3" lettering when you place first in your main event.  You need to place the sponsor's name and phone number and be sure the tech commitee is aware of them while going through Tech.

Please make sure you are at the venue prior to the time listed on your entry form for the event you are participating in. These shows are FIRST COME FIRST SERVE. This means that they may fill up prior to RECEIVING your entry. If this occurs then we will be sure to contact you either by phone or email and let you know that this has happened and you will be held as a backup entry if you desire or you will be refunded your entry fee if not.

A. Operation of Contest


a.) Competition Regulations


1. Any vehicle that does not ARRIVE at the venue WITHIN FOUR HOURS of the start of the show time may only compete with the permission of the event manager.
2. At anytime the USHRA reserves the right to stop the event immediately by displaying a red flag, light, or airhorn. Any driver failing to bring his or her car to a stop IMMEDIATELY following the official's decision may be disqualified from competition.
3. All decisions of the USHRA officials are final.
4. Vehicles must pre-stage in their position within two minutes of being called to stage by the USHRA or Clark MotorSports.
5. Any vehicle with excessive smoke may be disqualified.
6. If the driver's door bar falls down, you will be disqualified.
7. Any vehicle rolled over may be re-inspected for safety before being allowed to continue to run.
8. Any vehicle involved in a fire may not continue in competition until re-inspected.
9. All drivers must remain in the vehicle with harness and helmet on until the checkered flag is displayed unless instructed otherwise.
10. Any vehicle not engaged in live action for sixty seconds will be disqualified.
11. Competition will continue until the last vehicle remaining or until the event time limit has been reached at discretion of USHRA.
12. Intentional driver door hits WILL result in immediate DQ!
13. Any vehicle that causes a red flag may be disqualified.




b.) Course Regulations


1. A course will be designated by the USHRA. At the discretion of the USHRA, it may be modified at any time.
2. Deliberate contact to force an opponent outside designated boundaries is not permitted and may result in disqualification.
3. A vehicle that has all four tires leave the competition boundaries at the same time may be disqualified.




B. Safety Specifications & Car Build Small, 4 cylinder Car Democross


1.      All Competitors are required to wear an approved protective helmet (minimum snell90/ DOT 218) during competition.

2. Long pants with no holes and long sleeved jackets, a minimum of a one layer fire safety suit is highly recommended! NO open toed footware.

3. A three inch, four point harness/restraint system is mandatory.

4. Neck collars that are approved for motor sports are highly recommended.

5. Center of steering wheel, driver's door and any roll bars within reach of the driver while buckled in must be padded.

6. One inch roll bar padding is required within eighteen inches of the driver's head.

7. Battery may be left in stock location if you desire but you MUST pad it with foam rubber.  It is highly recommended that you relocate it inside the vehicle, it must be in a box and securely mounted to the floor.  The box must be covered and the inside padded.

8.Cars must have a door bar drivers side.

9. Cars must have a couple up rights for roll over safety.

10. Seat belt made or actual drivers window net on driver’s door window.

11. If stock fuel tank is located in front of the rear axle you may use it.  If stock tank is used then you must install a skid plate to cover stock gas tank (Sheet metal like old hood cut under car rocker panel to rocker panel bolt or weld) if you use stock tank a rag stuffed in filler neck to stop spillage in case of a rollover.  Tanks can only have 6 gallons of fuel in them!

12.  All doors, hoods and trunks must (at a minimum) be chained shut.

13. We are allowing the rules to be for just turn key runners and you may do more if you so desire.  Yes this is hit to pass (meaning if you hit or get hit you won’t be upset because you know its contact racing).

14.  You are allowed push bumpers/radiator protectors if you so desire!

15.  ABSOLUTELY NO FOUR WHEEL/ALLWHEEL DRIVES ALLOWED AND NO TURBOS OR SUPERCHARGERS.





What must be removed

(a) All glass, windshield optional, must be removed.

(b) Flammable materials inside the car must be removed. These include the carpet, the rear seat, and interior trim including side and roof liners.

(c) All light covers/bulbs, side mirrors, hubcaps, grills, side chrome, plastic, and pot metal must be removed. Side chrome shall mean anything below the window frame.

(d) All trailer hitches, related brackets, reinforcements and hardware will be completely removed.
